Afternoon Program Director

Wise Owl NY is seeking a dynamic, organized, and creative Afternoon Program Director to oversee after-school programming while also leading hands-on enrichment classes. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who loves working with children, thrives in an energetic environment, and brings a background or strong interest in cooking, art, or creative education.

You'll be a key presence in our afternoon programs—managing the flow of the space, supporting instructors, welcoming families, and leading engaging, developmentally appropriate classes that inspire confidence, creativity, and curiosity.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily after-school programming and manage the learning space
• Ensure smooth transitions between classes and activities
• Serve as a warm, professional point of contact for families and staff
• Lead hands-on classes (cooking, creative enrichment, or similar)
• Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons rooted in child development
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment
• Support positive behavior and a joyful classroom culture
• Communicate program needs, supplies, and scheduling updates to leadership

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in educational, enrichment, camp, or childcare settings
• Background or strong interest in cooking, art, or creative instruction
• Strong classroom and behavior management skills
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities
• Comfortable taking ownership of a program space
• Energetic, reliable, and growth-oriented
