Cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role involves operating POS systems, managing cash handling duties, and supporting merchandising efforts to ensure store presentation meets company standards. Bilingual skills and supervisory experience are a plus for candidates looking to advance within our team.

Duties

• Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with questions and product recommendations
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision and integrity
• Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities
• Maintain proper merchandising by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
• Conduct product demos when applicable to engage customers and boost sales
• Assist in inventory management through stock replenishment and stock rotation
• Uphold phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone or in person
• Support team members with supervising responsibilities as needed, including overseeing new staff or interns
• Ensure the checkout area remains clean, organized, and welcoming

Experience

• Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
• Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases
• Experience in supervising or leading a team is a plus but not required
• Ability to perform product demos and upsell effectively to increase sales performance
• Demonstrated ability to maintain excellent phone etiquette and customer service standards
• Basic math skills necessary for daily operations involving cash handling and retail math calculations

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $ $25.60 per hour
