Starter Bakery is growing, and we are looking for a detail-oriented, people-focused HR Coordinatorto join our team This role supports the HR Manager with day-to-day HR operations including payroll support, recruiting, onboarding, employee record keeping, and general administrative HR tasks. If you enjoy helping people, staying organized, and making workplaces better, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

  • Support weekly payroll by reviewing timecards, attendance, and employee changes.
  • Help coordinate recruiting efforts, including job postings, screening applicants, and scheduling interviews.
  • Prepare and organize onboarding materials and assist with new-hire orientations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and HR records.
  • Assist with HR compliance tasks including I-9s, training records, and policy documentation.
  • Respond to employee questions in a friendly, professional, and confidential manner.
  • Support the HR Manager with benefits administration, employee events, and other projects as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • 1–3 years of HR, payroll, or administrative experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Bonus points:

  • Experience with payroll systems (e.g., Paycor, ADP, Paylocity, Gusto).
  • Experience in food manufacturing, hospitality, or retail environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
