*Network IT 24 are an established and specialist ICT services and support company for schools in the West Midlands. We believe in the importance of developing teaching and learning through ICT and are seeking a seasoned ICT Network Technician to support the network and information systems across multiple schools in the West Midlands. The successful candidate will be working alongside our team of ICT Technical staff and responsible for managing, maintaining and improving the school’s ICT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all ICT systems. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, strategic thinking, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with our team and customers.*
*Responsibilities:*
* Work alongside a team of IT professionals across different schools, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
* Provide technical support and guidance to staff and students, resolving any IT related issues promptly
* Oversee the ICT network, including installation of peripherals and software, repairing faults, replacing consumables, updating software, executing regular backups, ensuring the renewal of software licenses, and setting up new equipment
* Identify, diagnose and rectify software, basic computer, server, and peripheral device issues.
Interpret diagnostic data, prioritise resolutions, and ascertain the necessity of external support.
* Adhere to an ICT maintenance schedule across the schools, making modifications as needed to accommodate additional tasks or requests
* Propose recommendations for enhancement and efficiency where applicable.
* Keep an accurate record of ICT software & licenses in schools
* Aid in ensuring the security of equipment and implementing asset labelling as required.
* Document loans of ICT equipment
* Conduct regular maintenance and updates on all devices including Laptop, Chromebook trolleys and iPad charging stations
* Maintain a record of the faults rectified and investigated for future reference.
* Assist in updating website content as needed
* Oversee inventory systems, the production of ID tags, and the setting up and maintenance of all staff licenses and email addresses in the cloud solution
* Take the initiative on specific minor IT projects or segments of larger projects under the guidance of Network Managers and Consultants
* Support the Network Managers and Consultants in the execution of larger IT projects across school sites
* Assist the Network Managers in the development and upkeep of comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, common tasks, and a knowledge base for frequent faults
* *Key Job Duties:*
* Providing up to 2nd Line Technical Support to clients in the education sector
* Maintaining and enhancing the efficiency of ICT networks
* Overseeing and caring for schools’ networks
* Cultivating crucial relationships with key technical contacts at school sites and third parties
* Working closely with company directors to support the company visions and goals
* Managing and overseeing the IT helpdesks across multiple School sites
* Maintenance and Monitoring of cloud-based platforms and systems
*Essential Skills:*
* Strong understanding/experience of all versions of Windows and Server Operating
* Systems, MAC and Google OS
* Experience with Active Directory – including the ability to manage, maintain and troubleshoot all aspects of AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and related services
* Good understanding of mobile devices
* Knowledge of Mobile Device Management software including JAMF, InTune and others
* Virtualisation - Good understanding of virtualisation software
* Networking – Good knowledge of the networking stack, TCP/IP, VPNs, LAN/WAN, and wireless networking
* Familiarity with a variety of backup products, including Virtual and Off-Site Solutions
* Knowledge of deployment solutions like WDS/MDT/FOG is advantageous.
* Knowledge and Understanding of managed wireless solutions (Ruckus/Ubiquiti/Aruba), including 802.1X security and guest/BYOD networks
* Experience with Office 365 and Google Suite is essential
* Proficiency with Web filtering products – Smoothwall, Sophos and others
* Familiarity with managed antivirus systems including cloud based solutions
* Professional demeanour, with a customer service-oriented mindset
* Solution-focused with excellent problem-solving skills
* Proven experience as an IT Network Technician/Manager or similar role in an IT environment
* Proficiency in network security systems, intrusion detection systems, and data backup
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strategic thinking and the ability to make sound technical decisions
* Ability to travel to multiple school locations as needed
*Qualifications:*
* A Level or equivalent in Computing, Information Technology, or a
* related field
* Vendor qualifications such as Microsoft, Google, CompTIA or similar
* Minimum of 5 GCSES with Grade C or Level 5 including English and Maths

*Working Conditions:*
This position requires regular travel to various school locations in the West Midlands. The Senior ICT Network Technician may also need to be on-call to handle any network emergencies that occur outside of regular working hours.
