Lead Line Cook/Prep Cook

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates efficiently, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation in every dish served.

Duties

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards set by the head chef.
• Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, and marinating.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other culinary tools.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
• Participate in training new kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques and safety protocols.
• Support the dietary department by accommodating special dietary needs when necessary.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a cook or in food preparation within a restaurant setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of culinary techniques, food handling, and food safety regulations is essential.
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods are highly desirable.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude are crucial for success in this role.
• A passion for culinary arts and a willingness to learn new skills within the kitchen environment.
