Job Summary:
Our Dispatch Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing daily operations related to the scheduling, purchasing, delivery, and dispatching of petroleum products. This position plays a vital part in balancing operational efficiency with profitability while cultivating a high-performing team environment.

As a working leader, the Dispatch Manager will be hands-on , engaging daily with dispatchers, drivers, customers, and suppliers. The ideal candidate will be a natural motivator —someone who understands the importance of morale, knows how to uplift their team, and can identify strengths and weaknesses to create a well-rounded, resilient dispatch unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop the dispatch team to ensure high morale, team cohesion, and operational excellence.
• Make strategic decisions on driver assignments, product purchasing, and delivery schedules that impact profitability.
• Evaluate and approve incoming workload from customers, ensuring it aligns with capacity and driver hours of service (HOS) regulations.
• Ensure even and DOT-compliant distribution of work among drivers.
• Serve as the primary contact for operational communication across employees, customers, and suppliers.
• Respond quickly and effectively to high-pressure issues such as maintenance, incidents, product mixes, or spills.
• Serve as acting terminal leadership in the absence of the Terminal Manager.
• Support and participate in employee performance evaluations, training, and, when necessary, disciplinary actions.
• Continuously monitor team strengths and opportunities for improvement, adjusting workflows and coaching to maintain peak performance.
• Promote and protect Reliable Tank Line's safety-first culture at all times.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in transportation or fuel dispatching; petroleum experience strongly preferred.
• Proven leadership experience—people-first mindset with strong decision-making ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
• Customer service driven with a high degree of professionalism.
• Technologically proficient in Microsoft Office and internet-based applications.
• Available for on-call support as needed.
