Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Access Control & CCTV Technician to join our security technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing access control systems, CCTV surveillance equipment, and related security infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the safety and security of facilities through reliable system operation and proactive service. Duties

• Install, configure, and test access control systems including electronic locks, card readers, biometric devices, and remote access software.
• Set up and maintain CCTV surveillance systems, including cameras, digital recorders (DVR/NVR), and network video solutions.
• Troubleshoot and repair security hardware such as sensors, alarms, fire alarm systems, and low voltage wiring.
• Conduct routine inspections of security systems using schematics and system design documents to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform cabling tasks involving electrical wiring, low voltage connections, and construction site integration.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and provide system design recommendations.
• Utilize computer networking knowledge to configure network-connected devices and ensure remote access capabilities.
• Maintain detailed service records, system logs, and incident reports for all maintenance activities.
• Assist with locksmithing tasks when necessary to support physical access solutions.

Skills

• Strong understanding of computer networking principles relevant to security systems and remote access software.
• Mechanical knowledge for installing hardware components using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Proven experience as a service technician in security or alarm system installation and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and system design documents accurately.
• Knowledge of IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), sensors, surveillance technology, and alarm systems.
• Electrical experience related to cabling, low voltage wiring, power supplies, and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
• Familiarity with fire alarm systems, telecommunication infrastructure, construction environments, and locksmithing techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly in complex systems.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and explaining technical details to clients effectively.
