Cashier/Sales Associate

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, manage sales transactions efficiently, and assist customers with product inquiries. This role offers an opportunity to develop sales skills, gain retail experience, and contribute to a positive shopping environment. Bilingual abilities and prior experience in grocery or retail stores are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions and handle cash, credit, or debit payments
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product selection
• Conduct product demos and upsell items to enhance customer experience and increase sales
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
• Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and inventory counts
• Demonstrate effective phone etiquette when handling customer inquiries or orders over the phone
• Support store operations through cashiering duties, including handling returns and exchanges
• Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming for customers

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales, grocery stores, or cashiering preferred
• Strong communication skills and friendly demeanor
• Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations
• Knowledge of POS systems and cashiering procedures
• Ability to perform upselling and product demonstrations effectively
• Bilingual skills are a plus to assist a diverse customer base
• Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
