Pre-Press Technician

About Us GSB Digital is a leading printing company in New York City, specializing in high-quality digital, offset, and large-format printing. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Pre-Press Technician who can jump right in and contribute immediately to our fast-paced production environment.

Job Summary

The Pre-Press Technician will be responsible for preparing digital files for print production, ensuring accuracy, color consistency, and compliance with specifications. This role requires close collaboration with designers, clients, and press operators to deliver flawless output under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

· Review and prepare customer-supplied artwork for production.

· Perform file checks (resolution, color mode, bleed, layout accuracy).

· Convert files into proper formats for offset, digital, and large-format printing.

· Create and impose layouts for printing plates or digital output.

· Generate layered die lines for robotic die cutting and embellishment systems

· Manage color correction and proofing to maintain brand standards.

· Operate pre-press software (Adobe Creative Suite, RIP software, HP Smart Stream).

· Troubleshoot file issues and communicate with clients or project managers.

· Maintain pre-press equipment and ensure software updates.

· Meet production schedules and deadlines consistently.

Skills & Qualifications

· Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat.

· Strong knowledge of color theory, CMYK, RGB, and spot colors.

· Familiarity with RIP systems and imposition software.

· Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to thrive under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Experience with both offset and digital printing processes preferred.

Education & Experience

· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in graphic arts or printing preferred.

· Industry experience is required – we need someone ready to contribute immediately.
