Position Title: Medical Assistant

Reports To: Owners

Position Summary:

The Medical Assistant (MA) at Charis Health supports providers and clinical staff in delivering efficient and patient-centered care. The MA performs administrative and clinical tasks to ensure smooth patient flow and exceptional service. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care and compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Phone triage
• Administration of vaccines
• Rooming/med reconciliation
• Managing incoming medical fax/sig
• Triage of patient questions
• Maintain license-ongoing education
• Point of care labs (rapid tests)
• Lab collection (work flow-discuss lab corps)
• Print lab orders for patient
• Genetic testing orders/SIBO/Food Sensitivity testing
• Prior auth ( depending on who works front)
• Checking HM preorder urine creatinine, optometrist
• Morning check in ( rotate first hour of the day)
• Procedure Prep
• Room Turnover

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Certification as a CMA or RMA preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Prior primary care or outpatient experience preferred.
• Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Use of computer, telephone, and standard office equipment.
• Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds (files, office supplies, etc.).

Pay Rate: $23.70 per hour
