divh2Job Title/h2pThe Sales Associate will assist customers with purchasing merchandise./ppStarting Pay: $16.50 / HR/ppJob Location: 1305 FM 1626, Manchaca, TX 78652/ph3Duties/Responsibilities/h3ulliGreets and interacts with customers./liliConsults with customers to understand needs and preferences related to available merchandise./liliDemonstrates and explains available merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customers needs./liliEmphasizes product features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders./liliRetrieves desired merchandise from sales floor and/or yard; places special orders where appropriate and required./liliBuilds and maintains customer relationships by entering new customer data and other sales data for current customers into a computer database./liliAssists customers in resolving complaints, including escalating them to management when appropriate./liliInvestigates and resolves customer problems with products or services./liliOperates the cash register accurately using the UPC scanner, quick key, and product keywords./liliAccepts money in the form of cash, checks, and credit or debit cards for items purchased./liliProcesses returns and exchanges according to store policy./liliAssists with stocking and restocking products, front-and-face products on shelves, and assisting with housekeeping./liliPerforms other related duties as assigned./li/ulh3Required Skills/Abilities/h3ulliExcellent customer service skills./liliGood verbal communication skills./liliThe ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners./liliBasic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds./liliBasic and intermediate knowledge of building products and local building codes./liliKnowledgeable about the companys products and services, as well as customer-related policies./li/ulh3Education and Experience/h3ulliA high school diploma or equivalent is preferred./liliSuccessful completion of on-the-job training; completing levels 1 and 2 of the positional training offered./li/ulh3Physical Requirements/h3ulliProlonged periods of standing and working on the computer or related equipment./liliMust be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times, and occasionally lift/move up to 80 pounds./liliMay need to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays./liliThe ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods./li/ulpMcCoys is an equal opportunity employer.
