REPORTS TO: Quality Control Supervisor
SALARY: Compensation commensurate with education and experience,

The Level 2 Quality Control Lead is a key member of the QC Department, with primary responsibility for supporting the on-shift night QC Technicians and to backfill that role, as required. They must have a good understanding of Quality Control functions and responsibilities and be able to troubleshoot and problem solve Quality-related issues in real time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the senior quality control representative during the production night shift.
- Assist in any quality-related investigations that occur during the night shift; work collaboratively with various departments to drive investigations and provide support to on-shift QC Technicians.
- Review in-progress Master Production Records and Daily Packaging Records to ensure adherence to internal processes and GDP.
- Monitor, understand, troubleshoot, and oversee the quality of products produced on single function and multi-function machines/processes from startup to shutdown.
- Maintain and enforce quality management system (QMS) procedures.
- Identify, document, and manage nonconforming materials or products that occur on the nightshift.
- With guidance from QC Supervisor, coordinate any additional QC tasks required to meet production schedule and shift expectations.
- Assist QC Technicians in performing water activity and moisture tests for product batch release.
- Perform in-process Quality line verifications, when needed.
- Ensure proper use and calibration of inspection tools and measurement equipment.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Additional duties assigned, based on business requirements and the QC Supervisor's request.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science, or related post-secondary degree, preferably in a technical background.
- 3+ years' experience in a QA/QC role in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
- High attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
- Ability to plan tasks effectively while leading and motivating the QC Team to achieve results.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written.
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills.
OTHER
- Must have proof of eligibility to work in Canada.
- This position requires the ability to (but not limited to):
- Stand and walk for an extended period on a hard surface.
- Lift objects up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to work nightshift in a 24/7 production environment.
