We are hiring a skilled Material Handler for our Houston, Texas facility. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring materials are stored correctly and safely. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to safety. We are looking for individuals with a keen eye for detail and the physical ability to manage various tasks. Join our logistics team and contribute to the efficient functioning of our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Move materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes.
- Ensure proper stacking and organization of materials.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Support inventory control activities as needed.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding material flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Physical strength and stamina to handle materials, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Team player with good communication skills.
