We are hiring an Inventory Control Specialist for our Houston, Texas warehouse. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing measures to improve inventory accuracy. You will work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient stock management and minimize errors. A meticulous approach, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of warehouse processes are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and report on low stock or overstock situations.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to prevent damage or loss.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Track and manage returned goods and defective inventory.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE, and promote a safety-first culture within the logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
- Proficiency with WMS software and other inventory management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse logistics and supply chain principles.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
