We are seeking a strong and reliable Material Handler to join our warehouse team in Madison, Wisconsin. This role is essential for the efficient movement and organization of materials throughout our facility, supporting our overall logistics operations. You will be responsible for receiving, unloading, stocking, and distributing materials, operating various material handling equipment, and maintaining an organized and safe work environment. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Stock materials in appropriate locations, ensuring proper organization.
- Assist with picking and staging materials for production or shipment.
- Conduct regular checks of material handling equipment for safety and functionality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Support inventory control efforts by reporting discrepancies.
- Follow all logistics and operational procedures accurately.
- Utilize proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is a significant plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting (up to 60 lbs).
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE usage.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
