As our business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for an Applications Scientist to join our established Pharma Applications team at our Head Office, Cowick Hall in East Yorkshire to generate data on our flagship ingredients. You will be responsible for carrying out investigations using pharmaceutical grade excipients within relevant formulation types to provide innovative solutions for challenges across a range of pharmaceutical applications. The role offers a significant level of practical work as well as interactions across most business functions from synthetic chemistry to regulatory and intellectual property to sales and marketing. Educated to degree level within Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutics, or related relevant scientific discipline Proven experience in using technical knowledge and understanding to solve complex scientific problems Strong laboratory skills and be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written reports Positive, self-motivated individual with the ability to manage and plan your own workload, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Excellent team player but also work well independently Knowledge and experience in formulation science (especially colloid science) would be advantageous Experience of working in the specialty chemicals or pharmaceutical industry is preferred Familiarity with drug formulation development process Experience in developing and running analytical testing such as HPLC is preferred What You’ll Be Doing
