Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure solutions across multiple platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, and private cloud environments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud computing projects, leveraging a broad range of technologies such as virtualization, containerization, and automation tools. The Cloud Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust cloud architectures that support our organization's digital transformation initiatives and ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions utilizing platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, OpenStack, VMware, Rackspace, and Citrix.
  • Develop and maintain scalable web services and APIs using RESTful architecture principles and microservices frameworks.
  • Implement automation scripts and configuration management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, PowerShell, Bash scripting, and Shell Scripting to streamline deployment processes.
  • Manage virtualization environments with VMware, Docker containers, Kubernetes orchestration, and system hardening techniques to enhance security and efficiency.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to cloud infrastructure components including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS solutions, databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle), NoSQL databases (MongoDB), and application servers.
  • Collaborate with development teams utilizing Agile methodologies to support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with Jenkins or similar tools.
  • Ensure security best practices are followed by implementing VPNs, firewalls like Meraki, and security policies across cloud environments.
  • Maintain documentation of system configurations and procedures following SDLC standards while supporting system hardening efforts for compliance.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), DevOps practices, system management strategies, and new service offerings to recommend improvements.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with cloud computing platforms including AWS (Amazon Web Services), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure; familiarity with Rackspace and OpenStack environments.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and Docker containers; orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Ruby on Rails, PowerShell, Bash/Shell Scripting; experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef.
  • Deep understanding of cloud architecture principles involving IaaS, PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service), SaaS (Software-as-a-Service); expertise in RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with operating systems including Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS), Windows Server; experience in system hardening for security compliance.
  • Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL (PostgreSQL), Oracle Database; experience working with SQL/T-SQL/PL/SQL for data manipulation.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes; proficiency in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools; understanding of application deployment strategies.
  • Strong grasp of network security concepts including VPNs; ability to configure network devices like Meraki routers/switches; understanding of internet protocols such as REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices including system management automation through scripting or configuration management tools; knowledge of microservices architecture design principles. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120, $145,431.59 per year
