Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or other health challenges. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence within a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to person-centered care and possess relevant experience in home and community care settings. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide patient observation to monitor health status and respond appropriately to changes
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Support clients with meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with mobility to ensure safety during transfers
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, vital signs, and patient progress
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including autism
- Support clients during community outings or activities to promote social engagement and independence
- Follow safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures; maintain a safe environment for residents
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning to ensure a hygienic living space
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, social workers, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care
Qualifications
- Prior experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health care preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or in hospice care is advantageous
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety awareness
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license may be required for community outings or appointments

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $ $16.50 per hour
Expected hours: 19.30 – 27.30 per week
