Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our energetic veterinary team In this vital role, you will be the friendly first point of contact for pet owners and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help coordinate appointments, manage client communications, and support the clinical team with essential administrative tasks. Duties

  • Greet clients and their pets warmly, creating a positive and professional first impression
  • Schedule appointments, confirm bookings, and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently
  • Handle medical collections accurately, processing payments and insurance claims with care
  • Maintain detailed client records, updating pet histories and treatment notes in our database
  • Assist with animal handling during check-in and check-out, ensuring safety and comfort for pets and staff
  • Communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions, vaccination schedules, and follow-up needs
  • Support laboratory procedures by preparing samples, recording results, and maintaining aseptic techniques when necessary
  • Coordinate kennel activities such as animal husbandry, ensuring pets are comfortable and well-cared-for during their stay
  • Assist veterinary staff with basic animal restraint techniques for examinations or procedures
  • Manage phone inquiries promptly, providing accurate information about services, pet health tips, or appointment availability
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team on critical care cases by relaying information clearly and efficiently

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter environment is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and restraint techniques enhances your effectiveness in this role
  • Experience with pet grooming or dog training is a plus for handling diverse animals confidently
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures related to veterinary diagnostics is advantageous
  • Background in animal husbandry or equine experience can be beneficial for supporting various species' needs
  • Demonstrated ability to handle pet care responsibilities such as pet grooming or basic animal handling tasks
  • Strong communication skills combined with a passion for animal welfare will help you succeed in this energetic role
