Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our hospitality and food service operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive management experience in the food industry, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves overseeing daily restaurant functions, managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and driving operational excellence across casual dining, fine dining, catering, or hotel food service environments. The General Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining high-quality service, optimizing operational efficiency, and fostering a positive team culture.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of Business or hospitality operations, including food preparation, kitchen management, and customer service.
- Manage staff recruitment, training, development, and performance evaluations to ensure a high standard of team management and customer satisfaction.
- Supervise daily shift operations, including managing POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling and sales tracking.
- Control inventory levels, monitor food safety compliance, and oversee food production processes to maintain quality standards.
- Implement and uphold health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation practices.
- Develop and manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation to improve profitability.
- Lead marketing initiatives and customer engagement strategies to enhance brand reputation.
- Conduct interviews for hiring new team members and facilitate ongoing staff training & development programs.
- Ensure consistent delivery of excellent hospitality experiences across all service channels including casual dining, fine dining, catering, banquet events, or hotel food services.
- Collaborate with culinary teams to innovate menu offerings while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Handle customer concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
Experience
- Proven management experience within the food industry or hospitality sector, ideally with background in restaurant management or hotel food services.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary standards, and kitchen management practices.
- Hands-on experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in inventory control, budgeting, staff training & development, and team leadership.
- Prior experience supervising staff in fast-paced environments like quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining establishments is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and compliance standards related to food handling and sanitation.
- Experience in managing diverse teams across shifts including supervising front-of-house and kitchen personnel is desirable.
