Where the Chemistry Happens:
The Maintenance Mechanic will assist the Maintenance Team Lead and other employees with work orders. They will observe and work with Maintenance Mechanics and Maintenance Group Leader at all times.
During training, your training schedule will be first shift, 6:00am to 2:30pm.
Once your training is complete, you will work second shift which is 2:00pm to 10:30pm.
Formula for Success:
- Ability to understand and comply with facility safety rules and regulations
- At times will be working in a chemical hazardous area with appropriate PPE
- Ability to work under pressure while still working safely and maintaining attention to detail
- Install, maintain and repair industrial equipment including:
- Liquid pumps
- Centrifugal
- Gear
- Diaphragm
- Vane
- Gear reducers
- Air motors
- Valves
- Actuators
- Conveyors
- Building utilities (HVAC, boilers, air compressors, etc.)
- Other industry specific equipment
- Fabrication skills:
- Ability to take idea and create fabricated equipment. With or without provided drawings
- Metal welding, Tig, Mig, Stick
- Metal cutting, Plasma, angle grinder
- Pipefitting
- Stainless, carbon steel, PVC, and other industry specific piping
- Threaded, welded, flanged, clamped, brazed, glued, crimped
- Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate.
- Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.
- Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.
- Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.
- Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
- Maintain machinery and the adjacent workplace in a state of appropriate cleanliness; create and maintain a schedule for inspection, service and testing of machinery.
- Read and comply with work orders concerning service, modification or installation of machinery.
- Work effectively with other team members
Ingredients for Success:
- High School Diploma is required.
- Experience in maintenance field is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fabrication is preferred.
- Ability to work with hand power tools.
- Willingness to learn and perform pipefitting and welding.
- Basic electrical knowledge/ skills.
- Strong mechanical background.
- Welding experience a plus.
- Ability to work second shift (2:00pm to 10:30pm) after you complete your training period.
- Ability to work overtime is required.
