Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Vascular Physician Assistant & Nurse Practitioner to join our specialized vascular care team. This role involves providing comprehensive patient assessments, managing vascular conditions, and supporting clinical research initiatives within a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in acute and chronic care settings, with proficiency in EMR systems and a strong understanding of vascular anatomy and physiology. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative, teaching hospital setting, contributing to innovative patient care and research projects.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using EMR systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations including vascular imaging review, laboratory data analysis, and clinical research data collection
  • Administer injections such as Botulinum toxin treatments and other vascular-related medications following aseptic techniques
  • Assist with procedures like catheterization, venous access, and ultrasound-guided interventions in outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Manage acute pain, airway issues, ventilator support, and post-procedure care for vascular patients in ICU or Level I/II trauma center environments
  • Provide triage services for urgent vascular conditions and coordinate discharge planning for complex cases including hospice & palliative medicine patients
  • Support telehealth consultations, follow-up care, and patient education on vascular health management
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records according to NCQA standards
  • Participate in clinical trials or research initiatives related to vascular medicine or innovative treatment modalities

Experience

  • Proven clinical experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner within hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU, or trauma center settings
  • Extensive background in critical care including ventilator management, infection control, and acute care procedures such as spinal tap or gastric lavage
  • Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for documentation and data management
  • Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding practices for billing purposes
  • Experience administering injections (including dermal fillers if applicable), performing physical exams, and utilizing aseptic technique in procedural settings
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to pain management and medication administration
  • Prior involvement in clinical research or clinical trials involving infectious disease care, public health initiatives, or medical imaging is preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in outpatient clinics or inpatient units with a focus on patient care coordination across diverse healthcare environments
