The Opportunity
As a DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer, you will:
- Innovate and Build:
Design and develop software applications that support clinical development workflows. - AI Enablement:
Identify and integrate AI and large language model (LLM) capabilities to enhance data processing and user workflows. - Deployment & Monitoring:
Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for AI-enabled applications; monitor production systems and continuously improve performance, reliability, and scalability. - Code Quality & Documentation:
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code; participate in code reviews and establish engineering best practices. - Research & Innovation:
Stay current with advancements in generative AI and machine learning; evaluate emerging tools and approaches to improve solutions. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to integrate AI capabilities into products and services.
Who You Are:
- An experienced engineer who can contribute as both a technical leader and hands-on individual contributor.
- Knowledgeable about the current AI and generative AI ecosystem, including benefits, limitations, and best practices.
- Skilled in accelerating and automating the software development lifecycle.
- Comfortable owning infrastructure, deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- A strong communicator who can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency with at least one front-end framework preferred; React or similar acceptable).
- Strong experience with backend frameworks in Python and/or JavaScript (e.g., FastAPI, Django, Flask, ).
- 2+ years of experience with modern front-end frameworks.
- 2+ years of experience developing and deploying AI/ML-powered applications.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs (e.g., with FastAPI).
- Proficiency with containerized architectures (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
- 3+ years of DevOps experience on AWS, including services such as EKS, RDS, and EC2.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and GitOps (Argo CD).
- Experience with caching and data stores (e.g., Redis).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Portkey).
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift)
- Strong Linux system administration skills.
- Experience with security best practices and compliance frameworks.
- Strong incident management and root cause analysis skills.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Experience implementing chatbots, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, and integrating LLMs into applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks and tooling (Hugging Face, LangChain, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience designing and operating microservices and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and security scanning tools.
- Experience with database administration, performance tuning, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with cloud cost optimization, performance engineering, and application optimization.
- Experience with test automation tools such as Playwright.
- Familiarity with CRDT technologies (e.g., Yjs).
- Experience applying NLP and LLMs to clinical or biomedical text.
- Basic understanding of clinical drug development.
