Day/night cashier

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. A successful Cashier will not only handle cash but also engage with customers to enhance their shopping experience.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide assistance as needed.
• Accurately process sales transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision.
• Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Assist in training new cashiers and supervising their performance.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
• Perform basic retail math calculations to ensure accurate transactions.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment.

Experience

• Previous experience in customer service or retail is preferred.
• Proficiency in cash handling and familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to manage stock levels and assist in inventory management as needed.
