We are excited to announce an opening for the Activity Therapist at Hendricks Behavioral Hospital (HBH). The Activity Therapy Assistant is responsible for planning and implementing activity services for assigned program, which involves providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

  • Planning and organizing activity programs under the supervision of a manager.
  • Setting up activity equipment such as tables, instruments, electronics, etc.
  • Maintaining and cleaning recreation equipment and facilities.
  • Assisting recreation staff in conducting sports, games, and events.
  • Assisting participants during activities.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as filling out paperwork and answering telephones.
  • Ensuring participants' safety.

Your Experience Matters What we're looking for:

  • Education & License: High School Degree, GED, or higher. Completion of Activity Director Certified (ADC) course preferred.
  • Experience: One (1) year of related experience, including leading groups, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
  • Additional Skill Requirements: CPR certification and management of aggressive behavior training within 30 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure

Compensation:

This is a PRN role, and the expected compensation range is $ $32.00 hourly. We are eager to engage with all qualified candidates, and we will consider their experience and skill level during the selection process. Join us as our Activity Therapist
