Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will support orthodontic procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment specializing in orthodontics, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the orthodontist's practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during various procedures, including bracket placement, adjustments, and iTero scans
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while maintaining proper radiation safety standards
- Manage patient records accurately within Ortho2 Edge, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Educate patients on orthodontic care instructions and post-treatment maintenance
- Record medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments
- Maintain dental supplies inventory and sterilize instruments according to infection control guidelines
- Support front desk duties as needed, including scheduling appointments, answering phones and managing patient flow
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Orthodontic Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology and infection control protocols
- Certification in radiography for X-ray procedures (A MUST) and proficiency in taking digital images including 3D scans
- Strong understanding of dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and aseptic technique
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and general dentistry practices is desirable
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information following HIPAA guidelines
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients about treatment plans and post-care instructions

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36.0 per week
