Job Title
Sr. Automation Controls Engineer

This position will execute against the function's strategy, and is responsible for understanding and defining all aspects of automation and controls systems within the company. This may include but is not limited to: evaluating process improvements, performing cost benefit analysis, writing equipment specifications, equipment supplier evaluations, writing project proposals, equipment installation and commissioning, materials of construction/services/ programming, controls, and safety concerns. Accountable for producing yield and productivity improvements, executing technology transfers, and increasing the efficiency of existing capital equipment in their SME area on a global scale.

  • Operate as an engineering subject matter expert in the areas of automation and controls.
  • Accountable for providing engineering support and delivery of solutions in their area of expertise.
  • Responsible for problem solving activities for complex issues that involve controls/automation systems and associated equipment.
  • Key interface with manufacturers and integrators that supply controls/automation solutions to the company.
  • Utilize experience and a strong understanding of ceramic, manufacturing techniques, associated equipment, and design/function to improve current or develop new manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements.
  • Execute capital project installations and technology transfers to meet production requirements.
  • Manage projects including training and guiding plant engineering and manufacturing team members.
  • Improve efficiencies by collaborating with manufacturing leadership, coordinating with maintenance/repair services, and cross functional engineering teams, to establish effective processes and procedures delivering results.
  • Responsible for staying connected to the trends in manufacturing automation and controls through industry publications and conferences;
