Hamilton Vision Center is seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented team member to serve in a dual position, supporting both clinical care and front-office operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, is a strong communicator, and thrives in a patient-centered, team-oriented environment.
You will split your responsibilities between Optometric Technician duties and Administrative/Front Desk duties, ensuring patients receive a seamless, exceptional experience from the moment they walk through the door to the completion of their visit.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Reception & Administrative Support
- Warmly greet patients and manage check-in/check-out.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and respond to patient messages.
- Verify and update medical and vision insurance; resolve missing or invalid information.
- Manage forms, faxes, referrals, and daily communication.
- Process payments, create receipts, and balance daily reports.
- Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming reception area.
Pre-Testing & Clinical Support
- Perform all standard pre-testing, including autorefraction, visual fields, retinal imaging, OCT, IOP, and medical history review.
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure equipment is calibrated and sanitized.
- Update patient charts accurately and efficiently in our EHR (RevolutionEHR).
- Assist with contact lens insertion/removal training.
- Support specialty services including dry eye evaluations, treatment assistance, and diagnostic imaging.
Patient Education & Flow Coordination
- Explain testing procedures in a clear, friendly manner.
- Help coordinate patient movement from front desk to pre-test to doctor.
- Assist providers with clinical documentation or forms (e.g., Xdemvy, Elahere, Tivdak).
- Communicate with patients about next steps, follow-ups, eyewear pickup, and referrals.
Teamwork & Culture
- Step in to help wherever needed to maintain efficient clinic flow.
- Support coworkers by answering phones, helping pre-test, or assisting with daily office tasks.

Qualifications
- Previous medical or optometry experience is helpful but not required—we happily train the right candidate.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong ability to multitask, stay organized, and work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with computers and learning new systems.
- Professional, reliable, positive attitude with a genuine desire to help patients.
