Unleashing Potential is looking for After School Site Managers to oversee one or more before and after school program(s) at one of our partner elementary school sites. This is an exciting opportunity for educators who are looking for an opportunity outside of a traditional classroom setting.
Program Duties:
- Manage both before and after school programming at assigned site.
- Key contact for parents and school administration.
- Oversee completion of program outcome measurements and works to improve the performance levels of children.
- Make recommendations to the associate director/director to enhance program and provide new activities including STEM and social emotional learning experiences for children.
- Create special activities and presentations with children for school events.
- Develop lesson plans and prepare for daily activities, including assurance that all supplies for programs are available to direct care staff.
- Complete weekly service unit reports.
- Facilitate group activities and serves as a primary contact for students, school administrators and parents in each school.
- Coordinate snacks and meals for students.
- Create methods of recruiting and engaging families and children to meet goals of the strategic direction of the program.
Supervision of Staff Duties:
- Provide leadership and direction to team members, including training, coaching, and mentoring as needed.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and implementing corrective actions as necessary to ensure goals and objectives are met.
- Coordinate work schedules and assignments to optimize productivity and ensure adequate coverage.
- Maintain a positive and supportive work environment, fostering teamwork and collaboration among team members.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by team members, resolving conflicts and promoting a culture of open communication.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Uphold company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Evaluate, monitor, and document performance including conducting onboarding assessments, monthly manager check-ins, and annual performance reviews

Education/Job Experience/Other Qualification
- BA degree in Elementary Education, Human Development and Family Studies, Social Work or related field preferred.
- Two years' experience working with children and youth in an academic setting or program required.
- Two years' experience supervising others required.
- Experience with developing and implementing child related program.
- Missouri Center Director Certification for minimum of 60 children, or ability to acquire certification within 30 days of hire preferred. You may learn more about the requirements for obtaining a Missouri Center Director Certification at
Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies
- Strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills with the ability to facilitate meetings with external vendors, school district personnel, conduct evaluations, provide constructive feedback and resolve conflict, communicate with Parents, School Staff, Unleashing Potential Administration, Licensing, Funder Representatives, and Community Partners.
- Adapts to the evolving needs of the organization and thinks 3 (or 20) steps ahead to develop solutions that achieve goals related to the implementation of quality programming.
- Strong supervisory skills with the ability to be an active listener as well as an effective communicator by having scheduled and regular conversations with employees.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to manage a high volume of work related to funder reporting requirements, licensing requirements and agency reporting with efficiency by creating a system for keeping tasks from slipping through the cracks.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and the ability to learn and operate funder databases.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and insurance required

The After School Site Manager leads programming in St. Louis' metropolitan elementary school settings, executing after school care and summer programs in alignment with Unleashing Potential's mission. This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with licensing and funding agencies. Oversees the development of and leads activities that enrich and inspire growth not only academically but with a holistic approach.
