Voyatek is seeking applicants to occupy the position of Project Manager within our team. This project manager role is for a project with a California state government agency for a system that has a significant financial component as well as a case management component.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and schedules to ensure successful completion within budget and deadlines.
- Team Coordination: Coordinate cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and stakeholders, to align objectives and ensure seamless collaboration.
- Requirement Gathering: Identify and document technical and business requirements in partnership with stakeholders and technical teams.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to minimize disruptions and achieve project goals.
- Resource Allocation: Manage resources effectively, including personnel, tools, and budget, to ensure project efficiency.
- Technical Oversight: Provide guidance and oversight on technical aspects of the project, including system architecture, development, and deployment.
- Status Reporting: Monitor project progress and deliver status updates and reports to stakeholders and leadership.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and ensure their requirements and concerns are addressed.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and comply with technical specifications and organizational policies.
- Budget Management: Track project expenses and ensure financial goals are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve project-related issues and challenges promptly to keep progress on track.
- Change Management: Manage scope changes and ensure project objectives remain aligned despite modifications.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed project documentation, including plans, reports, and post-project analysis.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve workflows, methodologies, and tools utilized in project management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant field of study
- Familiarity with the California Department of Technology's Project Approval Lifecycle process
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Must be local to Sacramento or within a reasonable distance to be able to commute to Sacramento.
- 12 + years on projects involving large and complex IT systems, that integrated one or more COTS applications, that included a financial component or case management component or both, which serviced at least 10,000 end users.
- 12 + years as the application manager or lead on projects involving large and complex IT systems, working closely with business leadership to ensure that the project remains within scope, budget and schedule.
- 12 + years leading or managing testing on projects involving large and complex IT systems, utilizing a structured test process including but not limited to system test plans, test scenarios and cases, defect management.
- Extensive leadership and people management skills
- Attention to details and ability to lead large enterprise projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
The wage range for this role reflects the wide array of factors considered in compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are based on the unique facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual range is up to $185,000 to $230,000.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. It is classified as exempt under applicable law. Additionally, this position aligns with the Voyatek Career Framework as a level 08 People Leader in a Program/Project Management position.
