About the Role

MacLean-Fogg seeks an Occupational Safety & Environmental Systems Manager to lead EHS strategy and execution for Mallard Manufacturing across Sterling, IL and Maquoketa, IA. You will own compliance, culture, and continuous improvement in support of our Mission Zero objective.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and enhance EHS policies, standards, and management systems aligned with OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Plan and conduct risk assessments, JHAs, and site inspections; track and close corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement robust CAPAs to prevent recurrence.
  • Deliver training on safe work practices, emergency response, and regulatory obligations.
  • Manage environmental programs—waste reduction, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives (including energy reduction).
  • Measure performance using EHS metrics; analyze trends to drive improvement.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of audits, inspections, incidents, and follow-ups.
  • Foster employee engagement and accountability to strengthen a proactive safety culture.
  • Partner with site and corporate leaders to align EHS goals with operational plans.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of EHS experience in lean manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Proven track record leading compliance programs and safety initiatives.
  • Proficiency with EHS management systems and data analytics tools.
Preferred
  • CSP, CIH, or CHMM certification.
  • Experience with sustainability and energy reduction projects.
  • Familiarity with industrial manufacturing settings.
Skills & Competencies
  • Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and ISO 14001/45001.
  • Strong risk assessment, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
