Teacher Aide

St. James School in St. Joseph, MO is seeking a part time classroom teacher aide for the 2025/2026 school year. This position will be 20-25 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Implement activities and opportunities that encourage children's curiosity, exploration, and problem solving.
• Provide care for the physical, social, and emotional needs of students while promoting and modeling the mission of the Catholic Church.
• Assist the lead classroom teacher in preparing materials, directing activities, and caring for each individual student while encouraging spiritual and mental growth to ensure proper development is taking place.
• Participate in and complete required training through professional development opportunities.
• Demonstrate professionalism, including confidentiality, when working with administration, staff,
• parents and children, while promoting positive relationships and effectively communicating with others.
• Lead children to meet high behavior standards
• Supervise children indoors and outdoors.
• Must be physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children.
• Perform other duties as assigned by building administration.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
• Experience with children in educational settings preferred.
