A&M Supply is looking to add a motivated and personable individual to our inside sales team. Strong computer skills are required along with the willingness to learn about interior building materials. The position will include everyday use of our in-house computer system which requires great attention to detail. Duties will include order entry, sales quotes, assisting the sales staff, customers, venders etc.
Customer service skills are crucial to this position. Candidate will be expected to assist in the service of a large, existing customer base. To succeed in these tasks a friendly, capable and creative attitude is necessary. We pride ourselves on finding unique solutions for our customers and we're constantly trying to innovate the way business is done in our field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features and solicit orders.
- Utilize product knowledge to recommend products to customers based on customers' needs and interests.
- Utilization of Microsoft Office Suite
- Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses and credit terms.
- Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties and delivery dates
- Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.
- Negotiate prices or other sales terms.
- Cold calling to identify potential customers.
- Maintain records of sales or other business transactions.
- Develop proposals for current or prospective customers.
- Increase focus on key customers in a support role.
- Gain superior product knowledge in support of our customers.
- Know solutions When and how to use them.
- Selling or Influencing Others – Convincing others to buy merchandise/goods or to otherwise change their minds or actions.
- Communication with Persons outside Organization – Communicating with people outside the organization representing the organization to customers, the public, government and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, by telephone of email.
- Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationship – Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
- Getting Information – Observing, receiving and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
- Communicating with Supervisors, Peers or Subordinates – Providing information to supervisors, co-workers and subordinates by telephone, in written form, email or in person.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- 2+ years of inside sales experience in a call center environment preferred.
- A valid driver's license.
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone manner.
- Familiarity with Windows operating system Word/Excel and Microsoft office Suite.
Employment Type:
This is an hourly, in-person, in-office position, Full-Time, Monday - Friday.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires sitting for long periods of time at a desk answering calls. Occasionally there is a requirement to lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
