Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases, ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision, maintaining proper cash handling procedures
• Upsell products and promote store promotions or product demos to enhance sales opportunities
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area, restocking supplies as needed
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and addressing concerns with professionalism
• Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves and ensuring products are well-presented and accessible

Qualifications

• Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery store environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings (English and another language) is a plus
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures required
• Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous for growth opportunities
