Social Media & Graphic Design Coordinator (Part-Time)

Makena Coast Charters is a snorkeling tour company offering unforgettable trips to Molokini Crater and the South Maui coast. We're looking for a creative, reliable Social Media & Graphic Design Coordinator to help us grow our online presence and bookings through beautiful, consistent content. This role is design-first (heavy Canva use), with social posting and light marketing support.

What You'll Do

Graphic Design & Content Creation (Primary)

• Design on-brand graphics for Instagram and Facebook (posts, stories, carousels, promos) using Canva.
• Create short-form videos for TikTok and Instagram Reels from tour footage and photos.
• Develop reusable Canva templates to keep our feed consistent and efficient.
• Edit and format photos/video for best performance on each platform.

Social Media Management

• Schedule and publish content across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok according to a weekly/monthly content calendar.
• Write engaging captions with clear calls-to-action and strong "Maui ocean adventure" energy.
• Use hashtags, geotags, and trends strategically to increase reach.
• Monitor comments/DMs and flag anything needing owner response.

Light Marketing Support

• Help brainstorm and execute seasonal campaigns, specials, and partner features.
• Track basic metrics (reach, engagement, clicks) and share simple monthly insights.
• Recommend improvements based on performance and platform trends.

What We're Looking For

Required

• Strong Canva skills (templates, layout, typography, simple animation).
• Experience creating content for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
• A solid eye for design and brand consistency.
• Some marketing experience or understanding of what drives engagement/bookings.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and take feedback well.

Nice to Have

• Video editing skills (CapCut, InShot, Adobe Express, Premiere Rush, etc.).
• Experience with tourism, hospitality, or adventure/outdoor brands.
• Familiarity with Meta Business Suite or scheduling tools (Later, Buffer, etc.).
• Maui-based and able to occasionally capture content (bonus, not required).

Schedule & Pay

• Part-time to start: approx. 5–10 hours/week, with room to grow.
• Pay: From $17-$20/hr or more depending on experience and portfolio.
• Location: Remote or hybrid; Maui candidates welcome.
