The Role
The Custodian/Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the cannabis facility in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and state regulatory requirements. This role ensures that all areas—production, processing, packaging, storage, and administrative spaces—are kept clean, safe, and compliant to support the production of high-quality cannabis products.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily and scheduled cleaning and sanitation of production, cultivation, packaging, and common areas per GMP and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Sanitize equipment, tools, and surfaces using approved cleaning agents and disinfectants.
• Maintain accurate sanitation logs, cleaning checklists, and documentation as required by compliance standards.
• Clean and restock restrooms, break rooms, and locker areas while adhering to hygiene and contamination control protocols.
• Manage waste and bio-waste removal, including cannabis plant material and hazardous waste, in compliance with company and regulatory procedures.
• Monitor and maintain cleaning supply inventory, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and usage according to GMP requirements.
• Follow gowning, hygiene, and cross-contamination prevention procedures when entering controlled areas.
• Inspect cleaning equipment regularly and report maintenance needs or safety issues immediately.
• Support environmental monitoring and participate in audits or inspections as needed.
• Assist with deep cleaning of facility zones between production cycles.
• Promote a culture of cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the facility.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, bend, or walk for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if needed.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must have reliable transportation
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
