Position: Tier 2 IT Specialist
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8AM - 5PM
Salary: $50, $70,000.00, negotiable based on prior experience
Description:
MCS is looking for a tier 2 IT Specialist to work with help desk and project level duties. These will involve a combination of incident triage and response as well as working with other specialists and clients to complete projects. Working experience in a variety of fields in the IT industry is a must (see requirements below). Outside of that, individuals will need to be a self-starter to rapidly adapt to an ever-changing landscape where the day to day is never truly the same.
This is not a remote or hybrid position.

Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming calls or emails
- Handle assigned project tasks and work until satisfactory completion
- Handle walk-in customers for service
- Create new/maintain existing documentation
- Participate in after-hours emergency calls, various system alerts, and complete assigned on-call rotations
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in Microsoft based technologies on Client and Server Operating Systems centered on configuration, setup, and maintenance.
- 3-5 years of experience with cloud technologies from Microsoft including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure AD/Entra ID.
- Experience with MFA technologies such as Duo.
- Experience with on-premise hosted application technologies such as Microsoft RDS
- Experience with handling server migrations, software implementations, etc.
- Consistency and attention to detail in workmanship and communication.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work through problems and perform research to solve problems or effectively consult with the rest of the team. Both are equally as important.
- Able to multi-task and work in an environment that requires adjusting to day-to-day activities at any moment.
- Must have strong communication skills in both working with clients and other staff
- Required to be able to complete a State and Federal background check
Not required but would be considered perks:
- Knowledge and experience with backup technologies such as Veeam
- Working knowledge on networking technologies such as firewalls, routers, and switches
- Knowledge and experience with additional Cloud technologies such as Google Workspace
