Skalicky's Auto Repair is expanding rapidly We are hiring a ASE Certified Level A/B Diesel Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing vehicles while keeping a clean and organized work area. We work on all the areas of a vehicle from cars to light duty and heavy duty trucks. We see all makes and models here, almost anything you see on the road, we service in our shop. Services from oil changes, tires, brakes, engine and transmission replacements, electrical diagnosis, dash light diagnosis to water pumps, suspension and normal mileage maintenance. If you are interested and capable, you could see trailer repairs, DOT inspections, aftermarket accessory installs and diesel repairs. This positions focus would be 80% of your time on high quality diesel repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
  • Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
  • Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
  • Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use
  • Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
  • Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
  • Keep logs on work and issues
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition

Skills

  • Proven experience as auto mechanic or just starting out.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
  • Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift).
  • Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
  • Excellent physical condition.
  • High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred but not necessary.
  • Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a definite plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45, $95,000.00 per year
