Traffic Control Flagger

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and vigilant Traffic Control Flagger to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic around construction sites, roadwork zones, and other work areas. In this vital role, you will direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic, maintain safety protocols, and assist construction crews by creating a secure environment for both workers and the public. Your energetic presence will help prevent accidents, reduce congestion, and promote efficient project progress. Responsibilities

• Set up traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barriers to establish safe work zones
• Direct vehicle and pedestrian movement using hand signals, flags, or stop/slow paddles
• Communicate clearly with construction crews and drivers to coordinate safe passage around work areas
• Monitor traffic flow continuously to identify potential hazards or congestion issues
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and traffic control plans at all times
• Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to supervisors
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the work zone to uphold safety standards

Requirements

• Prior experience in construction site operations or traffic control is preferred but not mandatory
• Ability to stand for extended periods and remain alert in outdoor environments regardless of weather conditions
• Strong communication skills to effectively direct traffic and interact with team members
• Knowledge of traffic control devices such as cones, barriers, and flagging equipment
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, or dump trucks is a plus but not required
• Understanding of construction safety protocols and utility locating procedures is advantageous
• Valid certification in flagging or traffic control (if applicable) or willingness to obtain training upon hire
