Barista Cashier

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista Cashier to join our vibrant café team. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about coffee, customer service, and creating a welcoming environment for our guests. The ideal candidate will have experience in food and beverage service, strong POS skills, and excellent time management abilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions and food preparation.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and food items with attention to quality and presentation
• Operate POS systems such as Square, accurately for order processing and cash handling
• Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
• Manage cash register operations, including cash handling, credit card processing, and balancing registers at shift end
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in accordance with health regulations
• Assist with food preparation, serving, and food safety practices within the café setting
• Upsell products to increase sales while ensuring customer satisfaction
• Keep work area organized, stocked, and sanitized throughout shifts
• Handle customer inquiries professionally and resolve issues promptly

Requirements

• Prior experience as a barista or in food service is preferred; familiarity with coffee preparation is a plus
• Proficiency with POS systems such as Square, is highly desirable
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and sales transactions
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Previous experience in the food industry or café environment is advantageous
• Reliable team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic

Pay: $15.00 per hour
