As a Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for overseeing safety protocols, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations in a fast-paced plant setting. Your role is crucial in fostering a safety-conscious culture, preventing accidents, and continuously improving safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations applicable to plants.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the plant process and implement preventive measures.
  • Safety Training: Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for plant employees, including machine operators and maintenance personnel.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate and analyze workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans for the plant facility, ensuring all employees are trained and aware of proper procedures.
  • Safety Audits: Conduct routine safety audits and inspections of the plant to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Oversee the proper selection, use, and maintenance of PPE in the plant environment.
  • Safety Communication: Establish effective communication channels to disseminate safety information, including safety meetings, bulletin boards, and digital communication platforms.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with relevant departments to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety procedures and protocols.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including training sessions, audits, incidents, and corrective actions.

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 years of experience in a safety role within a plant environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of plant safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with plant processes, machinery, and equipment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

  • Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, ASP) is a plus.
