Title: PACE Activities Coordinator

Schedule: 20 hours per week. During business hours of 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday

Pay: $23.29 to $25.40 per hour

ABOUT

We are looking for a cheerful and upbeat Activities Coordinator to join our team at TRU PACE and our beautiful Day Center in Lafayette, CO. Our ideal candidate enjoys interacting with the elderly and has experience with executing designed programs, events and activities. Former experience working in an assisted living facility or other healthcare setting is highly preferred.

JOB SUMMARY

The Activities Coordinator assists with the planning, organization, and implementation of a comprehensive recreation program tailored to the general and individualized needs and limitations of programs participants to meet their psychosocial leisure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Conducts in-person initial comprehensive recreational therapy assessments as needed. Collaborates with IDT to develop a comprehensive plan of care for each participant. Conducts in-person reassessment on an annual basis as needed.
  • Plans and implements group and individual activities to improve or maintain the participants' cognitive, physical, social, psychosocial, and artistic needs.
  • Plans and implements activities for dementia-specific population. Activities may focus on small groups, one-on-one programming, and sensory stimulation.
  • Assists with community outings and special events at the PACE Center.
  • Provides leisure education to participants and caregivers for activity modification, use of adaptive equipment, activity skill development and recommended supplies for in-home use.
  • Maintains general order in the activities area, including daily clean-up, routine supply inventory ordering, and overall general budgeting.

EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of relevant activities or recreation experience.
  • Certification as Activity Director from an accredited course, or able to obtain within 60 days of hire.
  • Experience in leading programs in art, music, games, and crafts to improve self-confidence and self-control and to relieve depression and anger for individual seniors and groups, preferred.
