POSITION TITLE: Computed Tomography Technologist (CTT)

SUPERVISOR: Diagnostic Imaging Manager or Chief Medical Officer

GRADE: E17 $$38.31 ($79, $57.47 ($119,538.43)

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager or Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the Computed Tomography Technologist (CTT) takes patient history, explains standard procedures, answers patient's questions, then uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Supports the Imaging Department including x-ray, and CTT as needed for the ambulatory/Primary Care/Urgent Care level of service.

· Performs whole-body imaging studies using Washoe Tribal Health Radiology Department apparatus as needed for the ambulatory/Primary Care/Urgent Care level of service.

· Performs routine and immediate plain film x-ray exams.

· Evaluates accuracy and quality of images and provides technical assistance to staff.

· Demonstrates techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff.

· Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff.

· Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies.

· Reviews work schedules and assigns duties to workers to maintain patient flow.

· Achieves production goals in conjunction with the Clinic/Diagnostic Imaging Manager and CMO.

· Ensures retention and maintenance of Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) status.

· Develops and implements plans, policies, and procedures regarding operations and staffing.

· Maintains stock of Radiology supplies through approved purchasing pathways.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

· High School graduate or GED and satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school and ability to meet requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.

· C.T. Technician certified through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:

· Knowledge and constant utilization of current safety standards.

· Knowledge of ideal patient experience protocols and continuous improvement of these.

· Knowledge of the functions and structure of the Washoe Tribe.

· Comprehensive mastery of operation of CT imaging apparatus in service to the ambulatory/Primary Care/Urgent Care level of care.

· Ability to perform routine and immediate x-ray exams.

· Ability to facilitate timely communication with providers and other staff.

· Ability to submit imaging data to regulatory and accreditation agencies (such as the American College of Radiology).

· Ability to maintain credentials and licenses as appropriate to perform duties.

· Ability to deal courteously, effectively, and tactfully with tribal health patients. 

· Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing.

· Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.

· Ability to represent the organization professionally, building respect and confidence.

· Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

· Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format.

· Skill in operating business computers and office machines in a Windows environment, specifically Microsoft 365, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Skill with Electronic Health Record software systems and patient charting.

· Knowledge of HIPAA and how it pertains to the medical record.

· Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; occasionally is required to operate a motor vehicle; stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. This position requires heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
