Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily dental procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and proficiency with various dental software systems. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental care across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics specialties.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontic work.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment.
• Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures.
• Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic technique and proper sterilization procedures.
• Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical documentation and records as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA and infection control protocols.

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical terminology related to dentistry.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures, including handling pediatric patients with care and professionalism.
• Familiarity with X-ray techniques, medical imaging tools including 3D scanners, and intraoral camera use is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting in general dentistry as well as specialized fields like prosthodontics and endodontics.
• Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization standards necessary for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
