Job Summary

The Training and Development (T&D) Coordinator will develop, implement and maintain a training program for the Disability Services department to ensure the accreditation requirements and provincial standards are met. He/she will use their superior communication skills in all aspects of the job, including where he/she works collaboratively with department supervisors to determine the training needs of the department staff, and ensure they are qualified to provide excellent service delivery. The T&D Coordinator is a confident and extremely organized innovative-thinker with a demonstrated ability to make good business decisions and build meaningful relationships in the community. His/her adaptability, networking and strategic approach makes them a strong contributor to the strength and success of the entire Disability Services department.

Hours of work:

Monday to Friday 9 to 5 Hybrid work setting

Responsibilities:

To develop, implement and maintain a training program that meets the needs of department staff, and meets provincial and accreditation standards.

  • Ensure handling of training inquiries, registration requests, and related communications in a timely manner
  • Ensure training compliance process is adhered to by both frontline staff and Service Coordinators
  • Work collaboratively with HR regarding matters pertaining to disciplinary action as it applies to training compliance.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director, Assistant Director, Lead Service Coordinator to ensure consistency across online platforms.
  • Ensure and maintain a regular communication strategy with frontline staff and Service Coordinators to provide reminders via e-mails for upcoming training that may be up for renewal.
  • Create and provide Director with monthly training compliance summaries.
  • Development and implementation of all new training courses through the Learning Management System
  • Maintain and problem solve any concerns or issues that may arise with the Learning Management System
  • Register all new and existing staff for all mandatory training through the Learning Management System or any additional training through other community agencies.
  • Create and maintain a 6-month training schedule for the Disability Services department.
  • Schedule and provide support Training Coordinator's assistant.
  • Maintain sufficient levels of training supplies.
  • Support staff educators by assisting with pre- and post-training preparation and administration (including certificate printing, etc.)
  • In collaboration with the Director, identify challenges as it pertains to the training needs of the Disability Services department.
  • Maintain the Learning Management System and content (department frontline documentation)
  • Assist with creating PowerPoints, handouts, and manuals as required.
  • Develop or improve administrative processes related to training and education (with approval from the Director,)
  • Develop new policies and review existing policies related to training department
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

· Minimum 3 years' experience with training facilitation and development

· Superior ability to develop training courses and programs.

· Bachelor's degree in education or human resources is considered an asset.

· Knowledge of training requirements for people working with individuals who have disabilities considered an asset

· Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work with individuals at all levels.

· Superior verbal and written communication skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Training Facilitation and Development: 3 years (preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Edmonton, AB T5N 1R5
