Job Summary

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide care for an elderly female client in her home. In this role, you will enhance the quality of life for your client by offering attentive, respectful, and professional care tailored to their unique needs. This position presents an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's life while enjoying a flexible and rewarding work environment. The position follows a 2-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
• Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
• Administer medications accurately according to care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and organizing to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
• Support patients with memory care needs like Alzheimer's or dementia, implementing specialized techniques and engaging activities.
• Use assistive devices like Hoyer lifts for safe transfers and mobility assistance.
• Observe and document changes in health status or behavior for ongoing care planning and communication with healthcare professionals.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of isolation and promote mental well-being.
• Follow all safety protocols, including first aid procedures, CPR certification requirements, and emergency response plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to the client's needs.
• Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines to protect client privacy at all times.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in home and community care or assisted living environments preferred; experience in group homes or nursing homes is highly valued.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as hospice care or dementia training are a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work with individuals who need mobility care.
• Strong observation skills, capable of monitoring vital signs and recognizing health changes promptly.
• Experience with medication administration, care planning, and patient monitoring is essential.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare providers.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
• Compassionate attitude with a proactive approach to caregiving that prioritizes safety and dignity.
• Experience with bed-bound assistance and safe transfers using a Hoyer lift is required.
• Female caregiver preferred due to personal care needs.
• Must provide professional references and pass a background check.
• 5 years of home care or live-in caregiver experience required.
