Position Overview

The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce is committed to growing a strong, engaged, and competitive business community. The Sales Manager plays a critical role in achieving this by driving new member recruitment through targeted outreach, relationship-building, and consistent sales activity.

This position supports the Chamber's restructured membership growth model. The Sales Manager handles day-to-day sales responsibilities, while the Director of Membership Growth provides strategic leadership, accountability, and retention-focused member engagement.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, goal-oriented, and skilled at identifying and converting prospects into long-term Chamber members.

Job Summary

The Sales Manager is responsible for:

· Executing daily membership sales activities

· Achieving monthly and annual sales goals

· Maintaining a robust prospect pipeline

· Conducting outreach to targeted industries and segments

· Supporting overall membership growth initiatives

· Working closely with the Director of Membership Growth to implement the Chamber's membership strategy

The Sales Manager will represent the Chamber professionally in the community and build strong relationships with prospective members, existing partners, and council/division leadership when needed.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Membership Sales (Primary Focus)

· Conduct day-to-day sales outreach to prospective members through calls, emails, mailings, networking events, and site visits.

· Achieve and track monthly, quarterly, and annual membership sales goals.

· Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline within the CRM.

· Perform follow-up communication with prospects to move them through the sales funnel and maintain high-quality sales notes and data accuracy in the CRM.

· Sell Chamber products and advertising opportunities as needed.

· Conduct in-person visits to businesses within St. Johns County and surrounding areas as assigned.

· Present the Chamber's value proposition clearly, confidently, and persuasively.

  1. Pipeline Management & Reporting

· Manage and update all sales activity in the CRM system.

· Provide weekly sales activity reports to the Director of Membership Growth.

· Prepare updates on pipeline health, future appointments, and forecasted sales.

  1. Support for Membership Strategy

· Execute targeted sales campaigns as developed with the Director of Membership Growth.

· Participate in Chamber events, ribbon cuttings, and networking opportunities as needed for prospecting.

· Coordinate with councils/divisions when appropriate to identify new leads or industries with growth potential.

· Assist in outreach to businesses identified through business intelligence tools, community partnerships, or internal data.

  1. Collaboration & Communication

· Communicate prospect and market feedback to help inform membership engagement, value proposition, and product offerings.

· Help organize Open Houses to generate new membership

· Collaborate with the Chamber's marketing and communications team when needed to support recruitment efforts.

  1. General Duties

· Assist with inbound membership inquiries when appropriate.

· Attend Chamber events as a representative of the Membership department.

· Perform other duties as assigned to support Chamber membership growth and overall success.

Qualifications

· Prior experience in sales, business development, or customer acquisition required.

· Experience in membership organizations, chambers, associations, or nonprofits preferred but not required.

· Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

· Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Must be comfortable making calls, conducting outreach, and following a structured sales process.

· Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.

· Results-driven, self-motivated, and competitive in achieving targets.

· Must have a car and be willing to travel within St. Johns County.
