Overview;
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Certified Athletic Trainer to join our team. As an athletic trainer, you will provide on-site sports coverage for high school athletic events as well as working part time in our clinic in Staten Island. This role is perfect for a compassionate professional who enjoys working with young athletes and collaborating with coaches, athletes, and physical therapist to support safe and successful sports participation.
Responsibilities
- Provide athletic training coverage for home games and designated practices
- Assess, manage, and provide immediate care for athletic injuries
- Communicate effectively with coaches, parents, and healthcare providers
- Maintain injury documentation and follow appropriate reporting procedures
- Conduct assessments to understand patients' pain levels and goals.
- Assist in developing and implementing injury prevention programs
- Treat and rehab patients in the clinic part time
- Design and implement treatment plan of care that align with patients' objectives.
- Provide guidance on proper exercise techniques to ensure safety and effectiveness.
- Educate and monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize results.
- Foster a positive and motivating atmosphere that encourages patient engagement and retention.
Experience
- Proven experience in personal training or related fields is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, body mechanics, and sports medicine.
- Experience in rehabilitation clinicals is advantageous.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients of diverse backgrounds and fitness levels.
- Certification from a recognized personal training organization is required.
Qualifications:
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with current BOC certification
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of NY
- CPR/AED certification required
- Strong communication and organizational skills
