What you'll do

The Teller professionally and accurately performs financial transactions for members, and cross-sells credit union products and services to help members achieve their financial goals and the branch achieve its sales goals. Additionally, the Teller performs branch/department functions to ensure efficient operation of the branch, and is actively engaged with members, continually focused on providing an exceptional member service experience.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional member service by greeting members, building relationships and exceeding member expectations.
  • Prepare and process transactions (deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, cashier checks and other services) accurately and timely.
  • Proactively address member questions, resolve problems and promptly handle forms and service requests.
  • Participate in achievement of branch sales goals by seeking opportunities for cross-selling credit union products and services.
  • Assess member needs and look for opportunities to help members by recommending additional products, services or referrals.
  • Balance daily in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follow credit union policies and procedures and comply with all applicable compliance requirements.
  • Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
  • Provide member service through face-to-face interactions daily.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • Professional, courteous and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Accurate handling of cash and negotiable instruments with a strong cash balancing record.
  • Ability to work with a diverse member base while providing excellent member service.
  • Proven sales and referral skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidences.
  • Ability to utilize appropriate software and computer applications.
  • Multi-lingual capabilities to include Spanish are a plus.

Education or Formal Training: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Six months' proven customer service and sales experience.

The starting pay range for this position is $18.90-$21.87/hourly, and final pay rate will be determined based on experience, education, skills, and internal equity factors. In addition, you'll be eligible for:
