Cashier

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, handle transactions efficiently, and maintain a welcoming shopping environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth store operations and fostering positive customer experiences. Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and retail sales is preferred, along with strong communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively.

Duties

• Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions
• Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and integrity
• Maintain knowledge of store products for effective upselling and product demos
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
• Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and organizing displays
• Conduct product demos when applicable to enhance customer engagement
• Ensure the checkout area remains clean, organized, and welcoming
• Support supervising staff as needed in overseeing store operations
• Follow phone etiquette standards when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries

Experience

• Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering preferred but not required; training will be provided
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for handling transactions accurately
• Bilingual skills are a plus to serve a diverse customer base
• Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is advantageous
• Strong communication skills, including clear verbal interaction and active listening
• Demonstrated ability to upsell products and promote store offerings effectively
• Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership opportunities within the team

Job Type: Part-time
